The latest attack on Gaza and violence in the West Bank and Jerusalem has caused devastation on a scale not seen since 2014. 230 people have been killed, including 63 children, 1,900 people have been wounded and nearly 60,000 people have been left homeless.
Decades of instability and conflict have already left Palestinian families unable to enjoy the most basic of human rights such as access to food, water, and medical treatment. 68% of Gazans suffer from food insecurity and half of Gaza’s children are dependent on humanitarian assistance. There is also a critical shortage of medical supplies. In East Jerusalem, 81% of all Palestinian children live below the poverty line and many families cannot even afford food and basic necessities.
